Wanted: Nikola Milenkovic

Barcelona have submitted an opening bid for Fiorentina star Nikola Milenkovic.

According to Italian newspaper La Nazione via Transfermarketweb, the Catalan giants have offered £38.5million for the 22-year-old defender.

Manchester United were previously interested in the Serbia international, who’s chalked up three goals in 12 appearances this season.

It’s claimed the Serie A outfit would be tempted to sell at that price to but United, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all monitoring the situation.

Matthijs de Ligt regret

Matthijs de Ligt regrets his decision to snub Barcelona in favour of Juventus.

That’s according to Barcelona academy director Patrick Kluivert.

The 20-year-old Netherlands international was the subject of an intense transfer battle between the European heavyweights – but decided to opt for Turin.

“Of course De Ligt is a great defender but in the end he chose Juventus,” Kluivert told Mundo Deportivo. “I think he is a little sorry, but it is so. You have to make choices in life, and sometimes and you do it well and sometimes badly. You have to learn from your decisions.”

Neymar contract snub

Neymar has rejected PSG’s offer of a contract extension.

That’s according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who claims the Brazilian superstar is still intent on leaving the Parisian side.

Neymar’s current £31million per year contract expires in June 2022 and PSG are eager to secure his long-term future to avoid having to sell him for a reduced price.

But news of his contract snub will give Barcelona and Real Madrid renewed hope of securing his signature.
