Jose Mourinho Tottenham backroom staff uncovered as three ex-Man Utd coaches join | Football | Sport

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has been quick to appoint his backroom staff after succeeding Mauricio Pochettino at the club.

Joao Sacramento has been made the former Manchester United manager’s assistant as the Special One conducts a massive shake-up of the club’s staff.

Sacramento has joined from French outfit Lille where he held the same position.

Mourinho is appointing a whole new backroom staff as Tottenham sacked those who previously worked with Pochettino.

And the Special One’s usual assistant, Rui Faria, is currently managing Qatari club Al-Duhail SC and therefore won’t be joining Spurs.

Carlos Lalin will be the fitness trainer at Tottenham while Giovanni Cerra is joining the analysis team and Ricardo Formoshino will become a new scout.

All three previously worked with Mourinho at United before the Special One was replaced with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Portuguese goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos also moves to Spurs from French club Lille.

Tottenham announced Mourinho would replace Pochettino this morning after sacking the Argentine last night.

On the appointment Daniel Levy said: “In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football.

“He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”

Mourinho has also spoken on replacing Pochettino at the Champions League finalists.

He explained: “I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters. The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me.

“Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

Tottenham return to action on Saturday lunchtime when they travel to West Ham at 12.30pm in the Premier League.
