Transfer links to Kylian Mbappe will just not go away for Liverpool, as fans hold onto the possibility of him making the switch to Anfield.
Now an old video from earlier this summer has emerged, in which the Frenchman praises the Reds during an interview with ESPN.
Mbappe was discussing which team he uses on video game FIFA, claiming that he does not like to play with Paris Saint-Germain.
He was then asked if he had to pick on team to use, who would it be…
“Maybe Liverpool, because they win the Champions League,” Mbappe said.
Host Herculez Gomez then asked him: “Oh, so you like Jurgen Klopp then?”
To which Mbappe replied: “Yeah, he’s good!”
Jurgen Klopp recently shot down links to Mbappe, by claiming the club simply cannot afford him.
When asked about potentially signing the 20-year-old, he responded: “Buying this calibre of player is difficult. I don’t see any club at the moment who can buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG.
“I don’t see any club; that is how it is. And we are involved in the clubs that cannot do it. It is as easy as that.
“OK, from a sporting point of view, there are not a lot of reasons to not sign him. What a player he is.
“”But it is about the money, of course. No chance. Absolutely no chance. Sorry for killing that story!”
Spanish publication El Desmarque have claimed Liverpool will not pursue a deal for Mbappe.
Instead, they have decided to go for Jadon Sancho.
That’s bad news for Manchester United who were in pole position to land the England international.
Sancho reportedly wants out of Dortmund after a difficult month which has seen his relationship with Lucien Favre become damaged.
