An L-plate rider is in critical condition after losing control of his motorcycle in Adelaide’s north.
Emergency services were called to Maxwell Rd, Pooraka, after reports of a serious crash involving a 16-year-old motorcyclist just after 11.30am on Saturday.
The Advertiser understands he lost control on the straight stretch of road and hit a kerb, sliding about 20m before stopping near a Stobie pole. His blue Honda motorcycle continued on for another 50m.
He was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital in critical condition.
Police say they are searching for another rider who could have been involved in the incident.
The rider of a blue Kawasaki motorcycle who was travelling west on Maxwell Road at the time of the incident has been asked to contact police.
Police have closed Maxwell Rd between Main North Rd and Bridge Rd.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Police have asked anyone who saw the incident or who saw the two blue motorcycles travelling west on Maxwell Rd to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
