Man City team news: Predicted 4-3-3 line up vs Liverpool – Guardiola changes | Football | Sport

Expect a different Manchester City team from midweek as Pep Guardiola makes changes for the trip to Liverpool.

City drew 1-1 at Atalanta in the Champions League in midweek and now turn their attention back to the Premier League.

They sit six points behind leaders Liverpool and know a defeat would be near-on disastrous for their hopes of retaining the title.

Guardiola will be without Ederson who was injured during that Champions League draw.

Claudio Bravo was brought on in that match though was sent off with Kyle Walker ending the game between the posts.

But Guardiola is confident that Bravo will perform well up against the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

The boss said: “He is an exceptional goalkeeper. He is an international goalkeeper. I have no doubts.

“Why shouldn’t I be confident about my players? I see him every day in training. We won’t lose because of Claudio.

“The red card the other day was because we lost the ball. Respect the guy. He is a top keeper.”

Joao Cancelo has impressed at right-back this season and is likely to start over Walker.

Fernandinho will fill in at centre-back alongside John Stones with Benjamin Mendy likely to start on the left side of defence.

David Silva is out injured meaning Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan could be given the nod in midfield.

Riyad Mahrez missed a last-gasp penalty at Anfield last season but could be given a chance to redeem himself with Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero joining him in attack.

Man City predicted line-up vs Liverpool – Premier League

(4-3-3) Claudio Bravo; Cancelo, Fernandinho, Stones, Mendy; B Silva, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling.
