Man Utd receive transfer blow as Bayern Munich enter race for Erling Braut Haaland | Football | Sport

Manchester United are keen on signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland.

The Red Devils have been watching the teenager throughout the season, as he continues to make waves in the footballing world.

Haaland has scored an incredible 26 goals in 18 games across all competitions this season.

In the Austrian Bundesliga, he has bagged 15 goals in 12 games, despite missing two fixtures through injury.

His form has earned him transfer interest from around Europe, with United believed to be one of the front-runners.

Haaland played under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde FK, and it has been suggested that he would be open to a reunion in the future.

However, United have been dealt a huge blow by the news that Bayern Munich are joining the race for the 19-year-old.

Bayern were interested in Haaland when he was still at Molde, but stopped short of making a move.

Now, with Robert Lewandowski being linked with a move to Real Madrid, it is believed that they are sniffing around the Norwegian once again.

Haaland was asked about a transfer earlier this week whilst on international duty, but was no mood to discuss his future.

“I relate well to [the rumours],” he said when asked to discuss his future.

Haaland was then asked: “Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid: what do you think about playing at any of them?”

But the 19-year-old remained tight-lipped, replying with a six-word statement.

“You know my answer. No comment.”

He was also asked about the prospect of playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, but again he had little to say on the matter.

Haaland replied: “No comment.”
