Neymar will be pressured into joining Real Madrid over Barcelona if one thing happens | Football | Sport

Neymar wants out of PSG and Real Madrid and Barcelona are both currently fighting it out to secure the player’s signature.

The Brazil international feels the time is right to leave the Parc des Princes, two years after he moved in a £200m deal.

Barcelona are currently frontrunners in the race to land Neymar, with the player himself hellbent on returning to the club where he enjoyed four positive years between 2013 and 2017.

But Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo say Neymar will be pressured into going to Madrid by PSG chief Al-Khelaifi should they be offered their money back.

Real had initially been targeting a deal for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

However, attentions have turned to Neymar with club president Florentino Perez a particularly big admirer.

Los Blancos have already splurged the cash on the likes of Eden Hazard, Ferland Mendy, Luka Jovic and Eder Militao.

But with the club experiencing a nightmare pre-season, Real are eyeing a spectacular raid.

Neymar is seen as a way to lift fan morale and deal a blow to Barcelona’s hopes at the same time.

And should Real give PSG £200m then they will try and persuade the forward into heading to the Bernabeu.

However, Neymar’s desire is still to return to Barcelona.

And something may need to give if Los Blancos are to make the 27-year-old the face of their rebuilding job.

Meanwhile, Barcelona star Carlos Alena has admitted it would hurt to see Neymar join Real.

“It would hurt if Neymar went to our eternal rival, especially after playing [for Barcelona],” Alena said.

“We hope that he comes back. He’s a spectacular player, one of the best in the world.

“If he comes back it would be an amazing signing, it would be an incredible way to close the transfer window.

“He would make us all better.”

Neymar joined PSG to escape Lionel Messi’s shadow and establish himself as a leading man in his own right.

However, Kylian Mbappe is currently the darling of the Parc des Princes – something Neymar doesn’t like.
