Chelsea and Liverpool battle
Chelsea are looking to use their close ties with Genk to rival Liverpool and Napoli for Sander Berge.
According to Goal, Berge is very likely to leave the Belgian champions in the summer, when the Blues’ transfer ban will be lifted, with only 18 months left in his current contract.
A host of clubs are said to be keeping tabs on the highly-rated midfielder, who has already recorded 20 appearances this season, but no official offer has been tabled yet.
Chelsea have a close connection to Genk after buying Thibaut Courtois and Kevin De Bruyne from them in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
And the Stamford Bridge outfit look set to put their good relationship with the Belgian outfit to good use.

The Daily Mail claim Pochettino must come away with a result against West Ham at the weekend, with defeat potentially playing a “major part in determining his future”.
And Spurs hierarchy have already drawn up a list of potential replacements should they choose to part ways with Pochettino.

Erling Haaland’s father spotted at Man Utd training ground
Erling Haaland’s father has reportedly been spotted at Manchester United’s training ground, sparking further rumours the striker could be set for a move to Old Trafford.
Haaland’s impressive campaign has seen some of Europe’s biggest clubs move in with the possibility of signing him.
United are keen to beat their European rivals to his signature, with a £100million move touted for January.
And they could be in the driving seat, according to The Athletic, who claim the forward’s father – Alf-Inge Haaland – has been spotted at United’s training ground.
Haaland’s father spent most of his career in England, playing for Nottingham Forest, Leeds and Manchester City.

Man Utd double January deal
Manchester United are ready to go all out to land Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland in January.
Goal claim United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward could shelve moves for Declan Rice and Mario Mandzukic in favour of landing the Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg stars.
United feel there’s a chance of pulling off the Sancho deal in January after Dortmund fined and dropped the winger.
As for Haaland, the Red Devils could sign the striker in January and loan him back to Salzburg for the remainder of the season.
Chelsea ace wants Barcelona move
Chelsea winger Willian is keen to join Barcelona.
The Spanish giants are long-term admirers of the Brazil international.
In the summer, it was claimed the Catalans had tabled multiple offers for the former Shakhtar Donetsk man – all of which Chelsea were said to have turned down.
And according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, the 31-year-old is interested in swapping London for the Catalan capital.
They say the Brazilian is stalling on penning a new contract with the Blues in the hope of sealing a move to the Nou Camp.
Luis Enrique isn’t keen on taking the Arsenal job should Unai Emery be sacked, according to reports.
The former Barcelona manager left his post as Spain manager earlier in the year, choosing to walk away from the hotseat at a time where his nine-year-old daughter was dying of bone cancer.
He’s been tipped to return to management with Arsenal amid the struggles of Emery, who is fighting a face to keep his job.
But ESPN claim that Enrique isn’t keen on returning to management just yet.

Liverpool exit backed
Darren Bent believes Arsenal and Tottenham will both have their eyes on Liverpool star Xherdan Shaqiri.
Former Premier League striker Bent believes the midfielder will not be short of options, believing Arsenal and Tottenham would both be keen.
“I think Arsenal would probably take him, Manchester City nope, Chelsea nope, Spurs may potentially take him as well,” Bent told Football Insider.
“I think there will be no shortage of takers so he has nothing to fear about that.”
